- An attractive clock of a desirable smaller size with original 8 day brass works running and keeping good time. The dial is signed “Rich’d Collins, Margate”. He is listed in Britten’s with the date 1798, but the style makes us think it is a bit earlier. Margate is a small seaside town about 65 miles east of London. There are several labels of a British clock restorer, but the only replaced part we have spotted is the left side moulding at the upper edge of the base.
