Description HWPS SERIES SELF-RETRACTING FALL ARRESTORS Retractable Fall Arrestors – Fall Arrest Blocks Retractable fall arresters function like a car seat belt, a re-coiling main spring keeps the lifeline in light tension, allowing it to respond in the event of a fall. If the extraction speed of the lifeline exceeds 0.5m/sec, the brake system is activated and will lock into place. resulting in the deceleration of the faller. The faller will initially travel vertically until tensioning of the fall arrest system occurs. At this moment the faller will begin a swing fall which will bring him under the anchorage and beyond, leading to collision with anything in his path. A worker using a self retracting lifeline device should operate in an arc no more that thirty degrees from the anchorage point. IKAR HWPS Self-Retracting Fall Arrestors are manufactured with a tough plastic casing containing a galvanised steel cable lifeline. They have Swivel eye attachments for connecting to anchor points which allow rotational movement by the user without entanglement. An Aluminium double action hook connects this Fall Arrest Block to the users safety harness. These fall arrestors carry a Declaration of Conformity to EN360 and EN362 for the Connector.
